Road and Bridge Division

One of the major functions of county government is to build and maintain a network of roads and bridges in unincorporated areas of the county. The Road and Bridge Division has that responsibility. Williamson County is responsible for maintaining approximately 1,400 miles of county roads spread over an area of 1,124 square miles.

Road Bond Program

Williamson County utilizes voter-approved road bonds to construct new roads throughout the county. Voters have approved road bonds in 2000, 2006, 2013 and 2019 to construct 203 projects and 360 new capacity lane miles. 

Fleet Services Division

Williamson County Fleet Services takes care of all the County's vehicles including maintenance, repairs, body work, and fueling infrastructure. Fleet Services is involved with vehicles from purchasing to auction and keeps records on each vehicle. Williamson County has approximately 750 pieces of equipment and vehicles to maintain, including 36 propane powered vehicles. The Fleet Services director is appointed by the Senior Director of the Department of Infrastructure.

Environmental Services  

The Environmental Services Division handles On-Site Sewage Facilities and storm water management. 

Development Services & Drainage

This division is responsible for enforcing the development requirements in the Subdivision Regulations.

Williamson County, Texas, is responsible for operating Public Transportation Programs and implementing transit-related projects, which are funded in part with Federal financial assistance awarded by the U.S. Department of Transportation and the Federal Transit Administration, without discriminating against any person in the United States on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, age or disability.
