1. Can I use a scooter, Segway or an electric bicycle on trails?

Motorized (gas or electric powered) vehicles are not allowed on the Williamson County Parks and Trails. Exceptions are made for differently abled visitors who require use of motorized wheel chairs.

2. Why are day-use fees charged at River Ranch County Park.

The day-use fees are charged to help offset the costs of maintenance and operations of this large and complex park.

3. Can I just drive through and look at the park without paying day-use fees?

A one-time complementary pass allows 15 minutes to drive through the park.  However, you must remain in your vehicle; and return your pass back to the Park Headquarters upon exiting the park.

4. Can the South San Gabriel River be accessed by car?

No. It is approximately a one-mile hike in and one-mile hike out, via an unpaved trail.  Our trails are for feet and hooves only.

5. I booked the Day-Use 'Homestead' Pavilion for a birthday party. Are my guests' day-use fees included with the facility use fee?

Unfortunately, no.  Your guests must be prepared to pay the day-use fee at the time they enter the park. This is how we keep track of permitted vehicle and guest counts.

6. Can I reserve the Interpretive Center for a birthday party, wedding, or large family event?

The reservable classroom/meeting space inside the Interpretive Center can only be reserved for educational, civic, or business functions.  The amphitheater outside the Interpretive Center may be reserved for other events, subject to approval.  Please look into reserving our Day-Use 'Homestead' Pavilion for birthday and other celebrations.

7. Can I drive my golf cart or ATV in the Park?

Only registered golf carts with a legal golf cart license plate can be driven in the park on the roadways only.  Motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on any of the park trails.

8. What kind of wildlife might I see at River Ranch County Park?

You might see a wide variety of animals to include deer, turkey, fox, racoons, jackrabbits, opossum, squirrels, porcupines, and coyotes.  There are many birds as well.  A bird list and other information on the wildlife can be found at the Interpretive Center, open Wednesday through Sunday.
