Williamson County Precinct 3 Commissioner Valerie Covey was joined by members of the public and others to break ground on the CR 245 road project. The project consists of reconstructing the existing two-lane CR 245 to an interim three-lane roadway with a center turn lane and right turn lanes at specific locations.

The three-lane interim road is part of the future ultimate six-lane roadway plan. The CR 245 project is meant to improve mobility around Georgetown and Sun City.

“The growth happening along and near CR 245 demonstrated the need for this project to be listed on the 2019 Road Bond election.  I am thankful it was listed as a priority project and that voters saw the importance this section of roadway is to one of the fastest growing areas of the county,” said Commissioner Covey.

The design engineer is Bridgefarmer, and the contractor is Joe Bland Construction. The project is funded through the voter-approved 2019 Road Bond for $6,969,195.21 and will be completed in the spring of 2024.
