The Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter (WCRAS) is hosting an adoption celebration, in partnership with Critical Kitten Care Fund, to honor the birthday of Ariana Delbar, one of the shelter’s amazing supporters. Ariana Delbar was a role model in every way when it came to supporting the shelter’s life-saving mission; however, she tragically lost her long-time battle against cancer earlier this year. To honor her, WCRAS will offer reduced adoption fees for all the cats and kittens on site this Friday, Nov. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m.
Ariana worked tirelessly as a foster of literally thousands of kittens, her truest passion. She served as the chair of the shelter’s fundraising committee, served as a Petco Love Adoption Ambassador, and ultimately founded and presided over the Critical Kitten Care Fund. The Critical Kitten Care Fund is a non-profit whose mission is to support the WCRAS through providing the most critical care needed for the tiniest of the tiny kittens. These were the cases that Ariana felt the most passionately about.
"We feel such a large loss with Ariana's passing, and we will continue to honor her years of work by saving as many animals as possible, just as she would have done," said Misty Valenta, animal services director.
To celebrate her lasting legacy, as well as her birthday this week, the shelter will stay open two hours late on Nov. 10, from 6 to 8 p.m., during which time all adoptable kittens and cats will be just $25 to adopt. WCRAS and Critical Kitten Care Fund will also host a celebration to honor Ariana with refreshments for guests.
