Williamson County Fleet Committee


Meet quarterly.


This committee is made up of one Williamson County Commissioners Court member, the County Fleet director, the Human Resources representative, the senior director of Infrastructure, the County purchasing agent, and the County budget officer.


Goals for the Fleet Committee include but are not limited to:

  • Review reports on fleet activity to include accident review
  • Research areas for reduction in fuel usage
  • Reduce and control fleet size
  • Use the fleet database to project vehicle and equipment replacement in conjunction with budget recommendations
  • Work with Purchasing to identify suitable vendors for purchasing vehicles
  • Review all available avenues for selling retired/surplus vehicles and equipment such as trades, auctions, internet sales, etc.
  • Establish fleet policy
  • Review and adjust vehicle and equipment life cycles to obtain optimum dollar value on our fleet
  • Risk management
