Location: North of RM 2338 to Ronald Reagan Boulevard
Description: The CR 245 project consists of the reconstruction of the existing two-lane CR 245 to an interim three-lane roadway, with a center turn lane and right turn lanes at specific locations. The three-lane interim roadway will be part of the future ultimate six-lane roadway. The CR 245 project was funded through the voter-approved 2019 Road Bond and is meant to improve mobility around Georgetown and Sunday City. The engineering firm for the project is Bridgefarmer and Associates, Inc.
Status: Design was completed in summer 2022 by Bridgefarmer. Joe Bland is the contractor, and construction began in February 2023. Construction is anticipated to be complete in spring 2024.
Road Closure: On Thursday, April 27, Williamson County's contractor Joe Bland Construction closed CR 245 from Ronald Reagan Boulevard south to Smokestack Lane. This extended closure will be in place for approximately four months to construct a bridge across Cowan Creek. This change to the existing detour will save time on the overall projects, avoid multiple lane shifts for the traveling public and save taxpayer dollars. Please see detour route for traffic.
