  1. About Judge Bruchmiller

Judge Sarah Bruchmiller serves as the judge of the 368th District Court in Williamson County. Judge Bruchmiller was elected to the bench on November 8, 2022 and presides over felony criminal cases and civil matters. She also serves on the Williamson County Juvenile Board and oversees the felony DWI court.

Prior to being elected to the 368th District Court, Judge Bruchmiller served for four years as an Associate Judge for Williamson County. As an Associate Judge, she presided over magistration hearings on felony and misdemeanor criminal cases, mental health hearings, and hearings on emergency protective orders. She served on the district court bench covering juvenile district court and felony specialty court dockets, such as the felony DWI court and the Transformative Justice program at the request of district court judges.

Judge Bruchmiller has dedicated her legal career to public service. After graduating from law school, she joined the Harris County District Attorney's Office in Houston, Texas, gaining experience as a Chief Prosecutor in misdemeanor and felony district courts. She earned extensive trial experience prosecuting cases involving capital murder, armed robbery, sexual assaults, crimes against children, and intoxication offenses. Judge Bruchmiller also served as a Chief Prosecutor in the Williamson County District Attorney's Office. She is a founding team member of the young adult Transformative Justice Program in Williamson County, and she worked in specialty courts in Harris County for defendants with mental illness, alcohol/drug addiction, as well as human trafficking survivors.

Judge Bruchmiller has been published five times in the Texas Prosecutor Law Journal and is a contributing author to the Texas Judicial Commission on Mental Health Juvenile Bench Book. She is honored to be a Fellow with the Texas Bar Foundation, the Texas Bar College and a member of the Williamson County Inn of Court.

Judge Bruchmiller graduated with Honors from the University of Texas at Austin, studied for an MBA at St. Edward's University, and has a law degree from South Texas School of Law in Houston. While earning her law license she worked for the Office of the General Counsel under Texas Governor Rick Perry and interned for the First Court of Appeals under Justice Elsa Alcala.
