Location: From I-35 at SH 195 to East Wilco Highway
Description: Corridor K is part of the Williamson County Long-Range Transportation Plan and has been identified as a future east-west connection to maintain safety and mobility as the county continues to experience exponential growth. Corridor K is currently undergoing a planning and Right-of-Way (ROW) preservation study in central Williamson County. The intention of the study is to determine the best alignment and roadway section for this east-west route from I-35 to East Wilco Highway.
The study is being funded through the County’s Corridor Program. Construction funding has not been identified at this time and will need to be determined for future phases of project development to continue.
During the study, multiple criteria will be evaluated to determine the most reasonable route that not only minimizes impacts to the environment, but also minimizes the impacts to properties. The County and its representatives will meet with affected property owners and stakeholders to continue an extensive analysis to determine a recommended alignment for the corridor.
Status: The engineer, American StructurePoint, is working on the study and will be developing a schematic anticipated to be complete late 2024.
